This creative project aimed to raise awareness about human and child trafficking and enhance the knowledge of professionals working at HFC shelters. Given that frontline professionals are often the first to detect potential cases of exploitation, the focus on providing practical knowledge was particularly relevant.
The presentation developed through this project offers clear and accessible information on the definition, forms, and tactics of child trafficking, ensuring professionals gain a deeper understanding of the issue. Additionally, it provides an overview of international, European, and Cypriot legal frameworks, equipping participants with the necessary tools to identify and manage trafficking cases effectively.
By addressing traffickers’ tactics, children’s vulnerabilities, and key warning signs, the project offers practical guidance to support professionals in their daily work. The presentation concludes with concrete recommendations and action points, providing participants with actionable steps to identify and support victims.
This project was carried out in 2023-2024 by Sofia Montresor, an ESC volunteer at “Home For Hope” in Larnaca.
