Cyprus with more than 300 sunny days per year, mild winters and its beautiful blue flag beaches scattered all over the Island is definitely a place where everyone can find something for themselves. But is this all this Island has to offer?

First of all – the people– in my opinion Cypriots are one of the warmest and most hospitable communities I ve came along, Nicosia is the multicultural capital of the Island with people coming from all continents.

Low crime – It is simply safe – Cyprus has a very low crime rate and I feel here safer than in my home country. No matter during day or night.

Snow–  surprise its not summer all year long, if you go to Troodos mountains in January you can find a thick cap of snow and believe it or not a small ski resort! On the same day though you can go to Limassol or Paphos and experience 18 or 20 degrees above Celsius…

The tax system – The taxation in Cyprus is low compared to most countries and there’s a high threshold before you start paying income tax.

Pace of life – The pace of life in Cyprus is exactly how you want it to be . If you prefer it slow,as Cypriots say “siga siga” it’s your place to be. If you want to be more active and busy, nothing can stop you. But generally you can observe a slower pace of life which has its pros and cons.

Coffee delivery– yes in Cyprus you can get your freshly brewed coffee delivered straight to your desk, home you name it.

Almost everyone speaks English – If you don’t speak Greek, it is a big advantage that most people speak English. Almost everywhere you go, you will be able to easily get by with English. There is also more and more people that speaks Russian, which will be very helpful if you also speak Russian.

Halloumi – Cyprus is the biggest producer and most certainly the biggest consumer of Halloumi- during the summer  a  very popular dish is Halloumi eaten along with Watermelon – got to try it out.

The Cyprus Do Stuff Community – Cyprus is a popular destination amongst English expats and there are plenty of expat communities (Erasmus students, EVS, people coming to work in big companies). Me and my friends have opened a facebook group on which we promote cultural events happening on the Island, we go together to the beach, for a hike in Troodos or organise creative events like the First International Pillow Fight Day in Nicosia which gathered around 100 people on Faneromeni Square in Nicosia.

There are way more reasons why to come to Cyprus, come and find out!
