“Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center is an international humanitarian and independent Institution based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Our Institution is established on standards and principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and European Union Law. It works on humanitarian and development policy relevant to the defence and promotion of children’s rights. It does so through research, grassroots program design and implementation and advisory services offered to governments and international organizations.

What does it actually stand for?

  • We run a Shelter for unaccompanied minors – Home for hope is a private childrens shelter for unaccompanied minors. It’s a semiclosed institution based in Cyprus.
  • We operate a Hotline for missing children 116 000 (call116000.org) – it’s a paneuropean hotline. The Missing Children hotline 116 000 is a tool for the prevention and handling of missing children, as well as coordination with authorities and NGOs at national and international level
  • We coordinate the “Beat Bullying” programme(bb.ucrcpc.org.cy) which aims to raise public awareness in the education community through the development of methods of identification, prevention and handling of bullying incidents.HFC has developed a mobile application “HFCBeatBullying” as a tool to prevent and tackle bullying which can be used in 23 EU countries. It contains practical advice but also direct access to the European Helpline for Children and Adolescents 116 111.
  • We organise international projects with our European partners such as Judex which aims to increase child-friendly justice in cases of sexual violence against children.
  • We give psychological support to families and children.
  • We are a EVS and Eurodyssey hosting organisation – we host volunteers coming from all European countries
